Rehab Centers Langley
Every year, over 100,000 Canadians enter rehab for addiction and substance abuse problems, and Rehab Centers Langley in B.C. provides a safe, trusted place for Women with addictions to recover.
Prior to 2008, cocaine, heroin, and alcohol were the mainstay of Canadian rehab centres. Based on statistics taken from CCSA 2014, the rate of which pharmaceutical addiction is escalating, the supply of drug rehab centre locations cannot meet the demand.

What is Rehab?
Rehab typically refers to residential inpatient rehabilitation services. This is where a person struggling with drug and alcohol addiction can check themselves in and undergo an intensive addiction treatment program. These programs can range from 30 days up to 1 year programs and usually include a medical detox component that manages alcohol withdrawal, opiate withdrawal, and benzodiazepine withdrawal which requires the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Medical Doctor. Rehab program models can vary in delivery but they mostly follow a bio-psycho-social model of recovery regardless of which model the program adopts.
Many blame the Doctor’s for the rise in pharmaceutical addiction and although this may have been true at one point, our Langley Doctor’s have been well educated and safety measures like prescription monitoring programs and data collection have been installed to track a patient’s drug seeking and Doctor hopping activities. The reality in 2015 is we have a growing black market of pill production. This explosion in pill production from the black market has made drugs like Fentanyl and Benzodiazepines readily accessible for street users.
What are Rehab Success Rates?
Rehab success rates, although a very common question, is a very ambiguous topic. The reason it is so ambiguous is most drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs don’t track outcome beyond 3 months post rehab and at the very most 1 year post rehab. So the real question is what does success mean to you? Does success mean 3 months of sobriety, 1 year of sobriety or a lifetime of sobriety? There seems to be major accountability placed of the drug rehab centre, especially by families of the struggling addict. In cases of a relapse, often the blame is placed on the centre as if the centre did something wrong. In reality, there is a process in recovery.
Recovery Home vs. Treatment Centre
Be careful. There are many unlicensed recovery homes that provide a meal, a mattress and some 12 step work but it’s best that you you do your due diligence on the rehab before you arrive. A treatment centre on the other hand has been licensed either by Assisted Living or Community Care. These centre’s are of highest calibre of treatment, offering credentialed counsellors and variety in recovery modalities. Many treatment centres offer 12 steps, but also include CBT, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Lectures, Drug and alcohol Education seminars, Yoga, and Fitness Programs.
Private Rehab vs. FREE Government Rehab
Private Rehab
The difference between private rehab and FREE government rehab is mostly the clientele. 90% of the beds in FREE government rehab are reserved for social services and CSE correctional clients. In many cases, these clients are forced to attend treatment instead of client in private rehab where the willingness level is high. Willingness to attend and participate plays a key role in rehab recovery.
Typically, private rehab will offer higher ratio of clinicians to clients and the bed count is usually much lower than FREE government rehab. Most private rehab centers manage 10-30 beds whereas FREE government rehab can house up to 100-200 clients, at any given time which makes it very difficult to manage and most clients don’t receive the one on one attention they will find in a private rehab.
The downside to private rehab however, is it is expensive. Your rate of recovery in private rehab jumps significantly vs FREE government rehab statistics, which shows a recovery rate of 3% post treatment. It’s no necessarily poor treatment or clinicians that you will find in FREE government rehab but rather the level of willingness on the clients’ parts and the inability to provide intensive one on one therapy to the client due to client overload.
Co-Ed Rehab vs. Discreet Rehab
The ability to feel safe and the ability to share in rehab is critical to a person’s success in rehab. There is much argument over these standards.
Based on interviews of over 1,000 rehab attendees across a section of recovery and treatment centre’s, unanimously, people felt more safe and had an easier time sharing their stories in discreet rehab vs. co-ed rehab.
The argument on the co-ed side, is that rehab is only a stepping stone into the real world of recovery and you will be integrated back into this world and have to engage and interact with the opposite sex, so why not get used to it in rehab.
But statistics show that people in co-ed treatment take much longer to recover and often develop unhealthy relationships in co-ed treatment.
When it comes to treatment, we highly recommend a non co-ed discreet rehab, so the person can feel safe open up, begin the healing, focus on the tools of recovery and then re-integrate back into co-ed recovery circle such as AA and or SMART Recovery meetings.
Conclusion & Next Steps
Finding a rehab centers Langley may not be easy. Although there is high demand for rehab centers Langley, you might not be able to find a location or a bed that is accessible.
Most people choose to attend addiction treatment outside of their immediate areas. Rehab isn’t easy and in many cases, people who attend rehab want to quit, at some point, especially during their stabilization phase which usually lasts from 14-30 days. If it’s easy to get in a cab, call a friend, or get on a bus, many do.
If you choose to attend rehab and you have a high willingness to find a life of recovery and long-term sobriety we suggest searching outside of local Langley rehab locations.
You can do this by calling 1-800-801-8354 and speak with an Admissions Advisor.
