Detox Centre for Women

Medical Detox Services for Women

(Disclaimer: Clients at West Coast Wellness Centre for Women are not currently detoxed on premises. We do however, work with our clients, offering them licensed regional withdrawal management or private resources, overseen by a Medical Doctor and or Registered Nurse.)

Physiologically, withdrawal management needs are the same as a co-ed detox but mentally and emotionally a detox centre for women is drastically different.

When a patient is withdrawing from the big three. Alcohol, Opiates, or Benzodiazepines, it can be an extremely painful and vulnerable experience. Many patients in early detox can experience cramping, diarrhea, vomiting, shaking, hallucinations and even seizures.

Experiencing these symptoms while trying to recover with dignity and respect can be difficult and even more difficult in a co-ed environment.

A detox centre for women is a withdrawal management centre that is supervised by an Medical Doctor and Registered Nurse and specializes in medical detox services for women only.

Although, for many women, this experience is preferable, this service can only be found at a private treatment centre.
